Grace Updates

Updates October 2009

PJ's BIKE RIDE
So over the weekend PJ said he wanted to ride Conor's new bike (it's just PJ's size and has no training wheels). I was out of town and Erin was not sure what to expect but she gave it a try.
He put on his helmet, jumped on the bike and rode it. Are you kidding me? No running through a field behind him, pretending not to let go. No, "oh my goodness" wobbly crashes or near misses. Nope, he just rode the bike.
This video is of turn number 2 when I got home and he had to show me. It's short, enjoy.

CONOR'S 1st DENTIST VISIT
Conor acted all grown up for his first trip to the dentist office for a "happy visit". THey use this as an introduction to the office and the chair and what they do. If in the course of showing them things they can get a cleaning in, GREAT, if not they try next time. Needless to say Conor has sparkling clean teeth after our visit.

Go RED SMASHERS!!!

PJ is 4 games into his first soccer season. He likes it a lot when he's paying attention to the game. Most of the time he is and gets into the play quit often. Lots of touches on the ball, he has a bet with Papo to try and get 10 touches a game. So far I thikn PJ is winning.

Erin took on the role of Team Mom. Organizing the rest of the parents duties (snacks, signs, uniforms, etc.) for the season. She even got to be in the team picture with this job, pretty cool.

Grace meets her brothers

After the boys left the hospital Erin told Grace she would never get such a big reception from her brother again.  The boys were so excited to meet her.  Playing 'peek-a-boo" and pretending to tickle her.  Listen for PJ's warning to Grandma on how to handle holding the baby.  The evening ended with a stage show by PJ and his 2 dancing girls (whom we never saw).

Grace Josephine Kelly is here!!!!

Today our newest addition arrived.  Born April 3rd,  at 8:10am weighing in at 7 lbs, 1 oz and measuring 20 whole inches.  Erin and I both thought she would be smaller and weigh in the 6 pound range.  These are the exact same stats as her older brother Conor, whom she also resembles so far.

Once Grace was born I was able to go over and cut the cord (or what was still attached to her) then join her in the nursery.  There they weigh, measure and check her out and give her a bath.

Erin was great having her 3rd C-Section.  It's still a little nerve racking getting started but the doctors really helped keep everyone calm.  We even had time to pose for a picture of the three of us in the operating room.  We somehow never got a chance with either of the boys.

The hospital was slow this morning so Grace was able to get in to see Erin in recovery, I was able to join them. Grace got her first meal from mom just 75 minutes after she was born.   This was an exciting first for us.  And Grace took to it like a champ, the nurses were impressed with how well she did.
Now we are settling in with her in the hospital room.  I am 3 tar poopie diapers in on this one.  I forgot how often these little ones go.

I will post more photos throughout the weekend so keep checking back.
